Malay rights group Perkasa will be presenting a special memorandum to the Bumiputera Economic Council (MEB) in three months towards strengthening further initiatives to empower the bumiputera economy.
Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali said among the proposals to be presented in the memorandum was the creation of a second Permodalan Nasional Berhad (2nd PNB) to monitor non-core businesses.
“The establishment of the 2nd PNB would empower the supply chain and value addition for bumiputera contractors who have problems obtaining massive supplies,” he said at a post-government announcement discourse on empowering the bumiputra economy in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Last Saturday, the government announced new measures and strategies to empower the bumiputera economy under MEB which would be set up soon and would be chaired by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
