It is up to the PAS ulama wing whether it wants to pursue a review of the party's relationship with the Pakatan Rakyat coalition at PAS muktamar, said PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

"The ulama wing as a part of the party, has the right to bring the issue to debate at its muktamar in November.

NONE "It is up to them if that issue is to be made into a motion, it is not for me to decide," he said in the Malay-language daily Sinar Harian today.

However he also said that it is up to the motions committee to vet every motion from the party's wings and decide whether it is eligible to be debated at the muktamar, or settle the matter internally.

PAS' ulama wing head Harun Taib ( right ) is reportedly still pursuing a review of the tahaaluf siyaasi (political coalition or consensus) with PKR and DAP, although the party leadership had shot down the idea on Tuesday.

He had argued the PAS' ‘tolerance' of non-Muslims has led the party to lose Malay support.
