Mohd Isa Abdul Samad has no plans to form a team to face the six-cornered fight for the three vice-president posts at Umno's polls next month.
Mohd Isa Abdul Samad has no plans to form a team to face the six-cornered fight for the three vice-president posts at Umno's polls next month.
The Felda chairperson said there was no need to form a team because the election was a family affair.
"Let the election proceed according to the rules and I am prepared to accept the decision of the delegates, furthermore it is not a general election to determine the government of the country.
"I think it is not apt to form a team in a contest like this because the power to choose lies in the hands of the delegates," he told reporters after opening a programme near Bandar Tun Razak, Pahang.
Mohd Isa, who confirmed his nomination for the post yesterday, will be facing three incumbents - Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Rural and Regional Development Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal, Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and two new candidates, former Malacca chief minister Mohd Ali Rustam and Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir.
