Pahang Wanita Umno from all the 14 divisions in the state have unanimously agreed to give full support to Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in defending her national Wanita Umno chief post in the upcoming party elections.

"We have been with her all this while and Shahrizat's capability in empowering Wanita Umno has been proven.

"We are confident that she will be able to pursue the transformation agenda as desired by Umno," Pahang Wanita Umno head Rosni Zahari told reporters in Kuantan today.

She was met after attending a gathering between Pahang Wanita Umno members and Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Azizah Mohd Dun.

Rosni said Shahrizat still received their solid support as the style of working brought by Shahrizat was systematic and encompassing all levels, from top to bottom.

On the decision by Rompin Umno division vice-chairman Maznah Mazlan to challenge Shahrizat for the movement's top post, Rosni said any party member had the right to contest for a post.

"It is her (Maznah) right to contest. I know Maznah and had once been her deputy (in Pahang Wanita Umno) but to me, when it comes to transformation, Shahrizat has been more convincing.

"Whatever it is, it is up to the Wanita members to make their choice.

"However, as we had agreed prior to this, it's full support from Pahang Wanita Umno in the 14 divisions for Shahrizat," said Rosni.
