VOXPOP ‘Hopefully this was not another movie that was made on taxpayers' money - that's really all the average person cares about.'
It's Lisa vs Lisa over 'Vikingdom'
Oriole:
Just another sign of the lack of maturity of the cinema industry in this kingdom. Movie makers and actors need to get used to the idea that reviews are a necessary part and not all have to love your movie.
Hopefully this was not another movie that was made on taxpayers' money - that's really all the average person cares about.
Doc: Actress Lisa Surihani tweeting: "I honestly don't know whether you have the moral conscience and how you can sleep soundly without it."
With regards to Lisa Surihani's tweet, frankly I can't understand how her husband, the movie's director Yusry Abdul Halim, can sleep soundly at night for knowing produced and directed a film that desecrated the Viking race and culture.
I hope that the local Malaysia producers and directors (namely one Shuhaimi Baba and one Yusry Abdul Halim) just stick to making movies about pontianaks/zombies or mat rempits in the future.
These movie genres are sure money spinners as they appeal to the Malaysian audience and it will ensure that unwanted aggressive negative public reaction will not arise. And yes, creative licence can be used without repercussions in these movies.
Progressive: Yusry, why do you have to defend yourself over a movie? Yours is not a historical documentary is it? And who is this Karl EH Seigfried?
Hollywood has made hundreds of movies that made Asians and Africans look backward. So why this fuss? Is it because Yusry is Muslim? By the way, the writer is not a Muslim.
Or is it because Yusry is Malaysian? Is Karl EH Seigfried afraid a Malaysian Muslim may make major inroads in Hollywood, so it would be better kill him off at the box office.
And some Malaysians are joining these evil forces to kill off a talented, versatile and world-class director by the name of Yusry. And this is a shame.
SKT: It looks bizarre to me to see Malaysiakini reporting such news while there are so many more political scandals waiting to be uncovered. If I see such news again, please refund my subscription fee.
Fair&Just: Thank you, Malaysiakini , for the story. Well, in bigoted Bolehland, many unconscionable and unscrupulous people do and can really sleep soundly after plundering, raping, murdering (even with C4), robbing, corruptly using haram money (money not theirs to abuse) like buying condos for cows, etc, etc.
So what is moral conscience to these bigots? Would you really like to know whether Shuhaimi can sleep soundly or not?
MockingYou: Huh? Two people pecking at each other over a Viking movie? Ragnarok must be coming sooner than I thought it would, and darn, where are my axe and shield?
3, 2, 1... lift off! Destination: Disaster?
Marde Parde: After manufacturing the Proton for donkey's years, the window auto winding mechanism cannot be rectified and now this Bolehland wants to mess around with space technology.
God help us poor Malaysians, our wealth is being spent and stolen by a few monkeys.
Fourtan: Space, the final frontier for BN money siphoning. "An image of an area in Sungai Buloh and Subang was missed by 37km and captured Kuala Selangor"!
Just use Google Earth lah . Better resolution and much, much cheaper.
For A Better Malaysia: Petrol prices went up RM0.20 per liter! We must also pay RM20 million consultant fees for the education blueprint. Opposition only like to complain.
Angry_Voter: Umno politicians, just stick to what you do best, like attending to ‘longkangs' (drains) and potholes. Space is too much for you all to comprehend.
MatrixLYN: Another white elephant project to suck the people dry. At least, let us watch some free TV channels with it. Now all it does is to capture blur photos!
Stevie W: Imagine they wanted to zoom in on KLCC twin towers but ended up with Komtar building, Some minister will say that is within acceptable margin of error.
Disgusted: They are still searching for a suitable middleman to take bribes on behalf of you-know-who. As the previous one is being investigated by French courts and also pursuing a PhD in criminology.
I wonder if any Mongolian woman or woman of any race will get killed if she gets involved as an interpreter in the deal?
Alicescat: It is always loads of fun to spend other people's money. While taxpayers toil, some people spend the tax money without batting an eyelid.
Wee Khen Peng: What would you expect from the same deputy minister who claims that the Lynas plant in Kuantan is as safe as a "kicap factory" . He has nothing between the ears.
