It said south-westerly winds with speeds of 50 to 60kph and waves as high as 4.5 metres are expected to occur off the coasts of Sarawak (Miri), Federal Territory of Labuan and Sabah (West Coast, Interior and Kudat) until tomorrow.

This poses a danger to small boats and water sports and recreation, according to the department’s website.

At 8 am, Typhoon Wutip was located 1,444 km north-west of Kudat, Sabah, it said.
