The Royal Malaysian Police will seek an extradition order from the Australian Federal Police if the employer of the main suspect in the murder Arab-Malaysian Banking Group founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi refused to surrender himself this week.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah said the 53-year-old businessman was believed to have fled to Australia three days after the murder incident.

“Although he is not in Malaysia now, but he knows that the police are hunting him. His family members are still in the Klang Valley,” Ku told a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters today.

Meanwhile, he said the remand order for the main suspect would end this Sunday and the investigation paper was being completed.

The main suspect was arrested with his two friends in a raid on a house in Taiping at around midnight on Sept 22.

Hussain, 75, was killed, while his wife suffered severe injuries, after they were shot at close range at a parking lot in Lorong Ceylon here on July 29.

Police were also in the midst of scouring a lake in the Mines area, next to Besraya Highway in Kuala Lumpur, to locate the firearm used in the murder.
