Its president, Ibrahim Ali (right), said the performance index of the companies must also be monitored from time to time by an independent committee to detect and identify problems faced by the companies at the earliest stage possible.
“Yes, they (GLC) do have their own internal audit units, but we also want to know whether their expenditures were profitable because it involves government’s funds,” he told reporters after attending the Penang Perkasa meeting in George Town yesterday.
In another development, he also urged the government to review the list of 1Malaysia People’s Aid recipients to ensure that only those who qualified would receive the aid.
He claimed that some of the recipients were self-employed but earning more than RM3,000 per month.
