Japanese company not taking over NFC debt after all

your say, YoursayAbsalom: Of course, the Japanese will not take over the liabilities of the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC). They are not stupid.

It is like A stole some money and you ask B to put it back. I suppose the money is as good as gone. It will be talked about for a while, then it will be written-off and forgotten.

Well, the government can always find the money to make up for these losses. Like reducing petrol subsidy or increasing taxes, etc.

Onyourtoes: From day one I did not believe this negotiation would work or was even genuine unless one believes he/she can create something out of nothing. Only nincompoops would think that Kirimitonas Agro Sdn Bhd is a bigger nincompoop.

Kirimitonas was thinking of something, the Malaysian government was thinking of something else. Now that the general and party elections are over, the truth must be told.

Oomph: The government should have made use of its most powerful tool of inserting 30 years of guarantee earning and taking over the losses should that happen. The Japanese also knew what the government can do but it is not offering them?

Hajile Leumas: It is high time that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) find out where the RM250 million government soft loan has gone and take appropriate action to recover the loan from NFC and former minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

PM Najib Razak seems to be ‘protecting' Shahrizat and NFC for some sinister reason. RM250 million is a lot of money. Sell all the condominiums in Bangsar and Singapore and the fleet of luxury cars bought by NFC.

Stop paying the obscene salaries to Shahrizat's husband and their children immediately. Freeze all their bank accounts. These should be some of the actions the government should take.

Dont Just Talk: Can Najib brief Malaysian taxpayers how much of the RM268 million soft-loan given to NFC has been recovered?

Are the chairperson and the directors of NFC held accountable for every cent misused by the company and what is the latest position on the three high-end private condos purchased for RM45 million in Orchard Road and Marina Sands, Singapore.

Is it going to be another golden handshake for the well-connected Umno family?

Nowhere in the world can you find a better deal than that "proposed" by Kirimitonas where some stupid investor comes in to buy over debts of hundreds of millions.

Fourtan: Most Malaysiakini commenters already knew something like this would happen. The bottom line is that Shahrizat is RM250 million richer and still holding an Umno position to boot.

Jean Pierre: Shahrizat has won, she is endorsed by thousands of her minions in Wanita Umno. There is absolutely no reason to punish her.

All charges against her husband should be dropped and they should be aided with more funds to revive the company. All those of you who think otherwise are jealous and Chinese.

Bamboo: If money can be recouped by selling the condos and luxury cars, I am sure the Japanese company would agree to take over. But it's impossible as the Wanita chief's family wouldn't vomit out the money.

Well Thats Fantastic: I have no experience with live cows but have eaten many steaks, I also have no money so will need a government loan (that's okay, isn't it?). I have also never taken money I did not deserve ever. Can I take over the project now?

I will need all the assets that were bought by the failed original contract holder though apparently Malaysian cows like apartments, not pasture, and like to be transported in luxury so I will also need their Merc as well...

James TCLow: The negotiations failed because the Japs are not cows. Period.

Tuan Haji KKK: Indeed, the investors are not cows. They are here to make money from their investments. Why should they want to take over the debts and liabilities if they don't see any potential in NFC?
