Pputeh: This is the height of not caring for others. We live in a multiracial country. It cannot be one-way traffic. If Muslims need to carry out religious activities like the slaughtering of cows, they should perform it in mosques or other places where only Muslims congregate.

It is not only against some religious beliefs but it's also inhumane to slaughter animals in school compounds.

Oriole: Is Perkasa running national schools in this country? If so, the government needs to clarify this so that people can make their own conclusions about the suitability of national schools for their children.

As for slaughtering cows, pigs or sheep, please use modern facilities that are efficient and hygienic. Stop traumatising children in schools, unless you're aiming to nurture brutish human beings.

Or is that part of the new education blueprint, Deputy Education Minister Mary Yap?

Siegfried: I heard the Saravanan's phone conversation on YouTube and opine that the school's headmaster was very calm and collected whilst responding to his questions and comments.

Saravanan could have been more civilised in his choice of words. Kudos to the headmaster for remaining calm throughout the phone conversation.

James Dean: A school is not a place to conduct religious rituals. Any religious ceremony must be done in the proper place, ie a house of worship. Pure and simple.

In any case, the headmaster should be the first to object such practices. By saying all the teachers were consult only goes to show the headmaster's lack of understanding between right and wrong.

MCA, MIC: A school is not a slaughterhouse. Where is Hindraf, Malaysia Hindu Sangam, Deputy Minister P Waythamoorthy, MCA, Gerakan and PPP? MIC is irrelevant.

Hamisu: I disagree that nothing can be done. This mindset represents giving up. There are times we need to give and take.

But Perkasa needs to take note that respect goes both ways. I doubt you will get respect when you keep disrespecting others.

'Allah' decision a blot on our legal landscape

Proarte: Umno and its judges are flouting the constitution. By suddenly allowing the use of the word ‘Allah' in East Malaysia which is going against the appellate court ruling, the executive has exposed the bogus nature of their earlier objection.

Now they are relying on Malay emotionalism, ignorance of the Quran and Islamic history to manipulate the majority into thinking that Umno is the real 'defender of Islam'.

PAS stupidly went along with Umno's Allah charade. They initially agreed Christians have the right to use the word but then back tracked due to political calculations. Their vacillation has shown that they too are mere political opportunists and will not uphold Islam and the Quran.

The courts used Umno's and PAS' unIslamic indoctrination that 'Allah' belongs to 'Muslims only', and the threat of criminal violence by Muslims, as justification to deny others their constitutional right to worship in peace. Citizens, for the sake of Malaysia, ‘Allah' in The Herald must prevail.

Odin: The ‘Allah' decision is a misconception as a result of union between servile sycophants, who have abandoned Lady Justice and discarded the principles they previously had, and the epitome of all that is evil. Even the doormat deserves our respect; those three judges, none at all.

Adam Adil: Thank you lawyer Tommy Thomas for your write-up. Most Malaysians already know that the three sycophant judges wrote a nonsensical judgment bereft of any rational and common sense.

They have no principles and sense of justice. This case will be studied in other Commonwealth countries as an example of a judgement tainted by political, religious and emotional biasness.

Fair Play: Perhaps Tommy's article is the final wake-up call to the educated rakyat that enough is enough. After more than 50 years in the driver seat, the powers-that-be thought they are immortal and change the rule of law to the rule by law.

However, the recent appellate court decision has brought the matter to the public attention and disdain, local and international. Now the powers-that-be and more specifically the judicial system are subjected to the public court of the international community, in particular the Muslim community.

If the powers-that-be won't or unable to change, the nation would go down the drain. No two ways about it. The only hope left for any semblance of rationality is the Federal Court if and when this matter is brought up to their attention.

Mr KJ John: Thanks for clarifying the confusion; but, I think the "idocratic judges" may not want to read your views, since they are being exposed for their non-legal but political thinking.

Keep up the education process, Tommy. It is good for all to know the truths of justice Lau Bee Lan's clear thinking and decision-making but abused by these idiocrats.

Sadly, because they can, those Umno extremists will just wait for the appeal to the Federal Court and then work their black magic in that judicial circus again.
