Explain failure of housing projects in Kedah, PAS told

5.05PM: Gerakan Youth has asked PAS to explain the failure of several housing projects during its administration f the Kedah state government.

Its chief, Tan Keng Liang, said today the projects included the low-cost and ffordable houses in Bandar Sejahtera and Bandar Tuanku Puteri in Pokok Sena, as well as the low-cost apartments in Bandar Darul Aman, Jitra.

Tan, who also heads the Kedah Gerakan Youth, said a check showed that the three abandoned projects had to be taken over by the BN government, Bernama quoted him as saying.

"PAS has to view this matter seriously and explain its failure to complete the projects as promised to the people before hurling accusations at the BN government," he told a news conference at the Gerakan operations room for the ungai Limau state by-election, near Yan.

"Give preference to this important matter before making all kinds of

speculations against the BN, which fulfills its promises to the people," Tan said.

12.20am: Posters of BN’s candidate for the Sungai Limau by-election Ahmad Sohaimi Lazim line the main street at Padang Lumat in Kedah.

Even so, the posters, printed with the words ‘Berani Hijrah’ (dare to change), seemed to feature a tired-looking Ahmad Sohaimi.

11.30am: MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai urges the Chinese to prove that they would support BN in the Sungai Limau by-election as the party needed more political power to fight for the community's interest.

He insisted that the Chinese-based party upheld the community's dignity, whereas Pakatan Rakyat does not.

Speaking at the MCA operations centre at Sungai Limau Luar in Yan, Kedah, Liow was commenting on DAP's mandarin slogan designed specially for the by-election - ‘Support Pakatan, Uphold Dignity’.

"The Chinese should not be depressed anymore, and should not sacrifice any more... in politics, the people's support is the biggest political power," he says.

He further claims that Pakatan is trying to provoke the Chinese sentiment by using the slogan after their failure in becoming the federal government and losing their place as Kedah government.
