Isn't that right, PM Najib Razak? Because this so-called confusion you speak of would apply only if you're speaking of children in kindergarten or about people with extremely low IQ.

Actually, your concern is not about faith - and may your god forgive you for this - your concern is not for the nation, and the nation will not forget this, your concern is only for your political survival.

So you do what every cheap politician in third world countries do - up the religious fervour among the masses, the grassroots, the conservative and the narrow-minded.

So like in Africa, in the dark ages in Europe, in India and Indonesia, Malaysia is now a proud member of that list of shame. But what the hell, self and party above nation, right Najib?

FellowMalaysian: Rather than clarifying the confusion created by the recent court ruling, Najib's interpretation on where the ruling does not apply (Sabah and Sarawak) has indeed turned the issue into a farcical imbroglio.

If what Najib said could be interpreted as correct, then this must be the only single restriction of law that is location-sensitive.

Maybe he is trying to tell us in a convoluted and hideous way that as long as the Alkitab is not preached to the Muslims, this will not renege the court ruling?

Myop101: But the Court of Appeal judges said the word 'Allah' is not integral to the Christian faith. So how is it the ruling only applies to The Herald?

Shouldn't the government appeal against the ruling by seeking clarification from the Federal Court that the Court of Appeal decision only applies to The Herald and strike out the part on non-integral to Christian faith?

Perhaps the Christians can now publish another 10 magazines and use the word 'Allah'. Good God, this is the intellectual level of the ruling government leaders and our judiciary. I still maintain that the verdict is a political verdict.

Quigonbond: In another words, the PM will give in to anyone who threatens to inflict violence upon others in the name of rights and religion.

Instead of exercising his oath of office to protect and defend the ideals of our federal constitution, he will appease them in the name of sensitivity, stability and harmony - when it is precisely such people who are the cause of instability.

He paints the majority race here, the Malays as weak and easily confused. By continuing this totally ridiculous idea that in some way, Malaysia can copyright the word to be used exclusively by one race/religion defies any common sense or logic.

The poor fool thinks that the international community will accept this argument. In fact, it will be (and has already been) rejected by many countries, which do not wish to be considered as just as fatuous. How embarrassing for all Malaysians.

Perhaps others have thick skins and insensitive to Islam and never the other way round. However he cannot explain why Muslims in East Malaysia and the rest of the Muslim world are not sensitive to the use of the word 'Allah' by Christians and others in reference to the Creator.

This because Umno Baru for their very own survival and hold unto power depends solely on playing racial politics and politicising Islam in Bolehland and that you cannot be a Malay if you are not a Muslim.

Oracle: Many of us have forgotten that it was Najib, when he was the deputy prime minister, who said that, and I quote, "Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak set off a fire storm on July 17 (2007) when, in response to a reporter's question, he stated that Malaysia is and has always been an 'Islamic state'."

It is he who is driving the issue despite his contrary pronouncements internationally and locally. No wonder Perkasa and others of the same persuasion are bold enough to say what they have been saying! In our PM's mind we are not a secular state.

Boiling Mud: Since when could the use of the word 'Allah' in The Herald jeopardise national stability?

Are the Muslims in this country (and this country only) so innate in their thinking to be misled by the use of the word in other faiths? Don't insult them! Only a twisted mind is capable to come up with such lame excuse for political purpose. Reign in your extremists; that is the most fundamental to ensure national stability.

Open Minded: Najib as usual, your explanations lack any solid and rational thinking. Today, we celebrate the Festival of Lights, victory of good over evil and liberation of the people.
