Police are hunting for two suspects, a man and a woman, believed responsible for abducting a 20 month-old British boy yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah believed that the two suspects in their 30s, were known to the boy's family.

He said the police are trying to determine the identity of the two suspects as to whether they are locals or foreigners.

"We believe that this case has nothing to do with ransom. There may be other motives and we are investigating," he told reporters at Pantai police station today.

In the incident at 6.10pm yesterday, the boy, Freddie Joseph was abducted from his mother's house in Jalan Terasik 7, Bangsar.

The boy was found by members of the public at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa here, at about 12.20pm today.

Ku said the boy was sent to hospital for examination before being handed over to his mother.

The police will study CCTV recordings in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa to determine when the suspects abandoned the boy.

Members of the public with information on the case should contact the nearest police station to aid police investigation.

It is being investigated under Section 3 (1) of the Kidnapping Act 1961.
