Who cares about PKFZ when MCA elections are nigh?
VOXPOP 'I believe Ong Tee Keat's mind now is only on the MCA presidency. He will not do anything now to jeopardise his chances.'
Tee Keat stays mum on Ling's PKFZ acquittal
Fairnsquare: Former MCA chief Ong Tee Keat did what no MCA leader would dare do and it even cost him his ministerial position and presidency. So it is the politics that has failed society, not the man. He is right not to comment as it is apparent that honesty does not pay in a sick system. He may not be a shrewd politician, but is definitely the best leader the Chinese ever had and they did not recognise it. What a shame.
Dood: For those who had been cheering Tee Keat on and thinking he is the saviour of MCA or the 'moral' voice in opposition to current president Chua Soi Lek, take a look again at your hero. These MCA and BN people are the same. When it is time to stand up and be counted, don't expect anything.
Voice: This Ong is not the Ong of yesteryear. Either that, or all these years he was not the man we thought him to be. I believe his mind now is only on the MCA presidency. He will not do anything now to jeopardise his chances. By the way, he not only stays mum on this Port Klang Free Zone (PKRZ) scandal case, he even stays mum on many issues affecting the people.
Ferdtan: What is so surprising? After all he is still a MCA member who still is ambitious. He may need votes from Ling's supporters in MCA in his struggle to get back to the helm of the party. For a politician, principles can waver depending on circumstances. He is no exception.
No Eye To See: For sarcastically asking the AG to drop all outstanding case related to PKFZ, this Lee Hwa Beng has more guts and more political integrity than Ong who is merely an opportunist.
Ong knows a lot of inside stories on PKFZ and he knows he will be rewarded by keeping silent this time. If no offer comes along, only then might he open his big mouth again.
Anonymous_5fb: Simple, the rakyat's losses are Umno's gains. These include PKFZ, NFC, the IPPs, Scorpene submarines, MAS, Perwaja etc, etc.

Law expert frowns on Karpal's deregister statement
My Opinion: Abdul Aziz Bari, you may have some Muslim friends in the Muslim Lawyers' Association (MLA), but you being a mature person and a legal academician will know that it has always been DAP chairperson Karpal Singh's policy that there should be no race/religion based politics.
He is not misrepresenting or showing his ignorance of the constitution. He merely wants to suggest that a non-race/religion based association is for the betterment of multiracial Malaysia.
Fairnsquare: This has nothing to do with the constitution. A senior politician is just airing his frustration, and quite rightly so, since the politics in country is encouraging racially divisive thinking.
As for Aziz Bari, his concern is that non racial thinking might upset the majority race agenda. So let us not bring the constitution into this 'argument'.
Samurai: This is a typically myopic view of an academic, who looks at the finer points of law when Karpal is merely expressing a very deep-rooted, fundamental problem dragging Malaysia down and down. Sure, what Karpal says may be extreme, but the essence of it is basically true. And he is right, that PAS has embraced other races and religions is proof what he said is correct.
It is strange for Aziz Bari to jump in since I believe, he is an opposition politician now. Says a lot about PKR's stand on multiculturalism.
JBond: The spirit of many laws including the constitution has been flouted with impunity by Umno with the help of a useless attorney-general, so Bolehland is in reality lawless when for example the most cruel murder in our history has not been dealt with fairly. And criminals are running our country.
Perkasa's Indian ally backs cow slaughter in schools
James Dean: Perinnbam chief U Thamotharan, what is your agenda? A headmaster in a sekolah kebangsaan should know what is right from what is wrong. Having discussed it with the PTA and staff does not make the slaughtering of cows at the school right.
We are not against the Muslim's korban ceremony, but do it in the right place like religious schools or abattoirs. Thamotharan, I am sure you will sidestep the issue to make way for Ibrahim Ali, just like your kindred deputy minister P Kamalanathan who once kissed DPM Muhyiddin Yassin's hand.
My Opinion: U Thamotharan, you are such a Hindu hypocrite. Going by the reincarnation theory that Hindus believe in, that cow slaughtered might just be your grandparent. This is not about where the Muslims want to carry out the korban. This is about living in a multiracial country where the other party gives due respect to the Hindu community's beliefs of the sacred cow.
Smallbigblob: Sad indeed for the Indian folks. This Thamo fella must have been charmed by some 'contract' promises, or maybe some ' peanuts' thrown on the floor for him to pick up. Or some Perkasa snake oil given to him to sniff?
R1: Wow, he is asking the Indian students to skip school on korban day. Why didn't we all think of that earlier? In fact, why not close the school? Dude, it is the slaughtering of animals in front of children that is the issue here.
Well Thats Fantastic: How low will people go for a position of power?
