The accomplice of a rogue security guard who allegedly shot dead AmBank officer Norazita Abdul Talib during a RM450,000 robbery at the bank’s branch in Subang Jaya last month, may still be in the country.

Initial police investigations revealed the fugitive, known only as ‘Joemar’, and in possession of a fake identity card, was waiting outside the bank to facilitate the killer guard’s getaway on Oct 23.

Selangor police chief Mohd Shukri Dahlan said police intelligence indicated that ‘Joemar’ who resided in Klang, was employed as a security guard at a company in Selangor.

He said the company was not linked to the banking sector, adding that the immigrant had lived in the country for a year.

“We are in the midst of tracking down Joemar and urge members of the public who know his whereabouts to facilitate our investigations, in a similar manner when public information led to the arrest of the primary suspect (in Norazita’s murder),” he told a press conference in Shah Alam today.

On Joemar’s fake identity card, Mohd Shukri said it bore the name, Osman Salleh, aged 29, and number 840713-12-5207.

He said a pump-action shotgun, three rounds of live ammunition and a spent bullet found by the police in a monsoon drain yesterday in Taman Industri Sungai Penaga, Subang Jaya was linked to the bank robbery-cum-murder.

“We are in the midst of looking for the remainder of the money (RM428,200) after RM21,800 was found in the possession of the main suspect’s family members,” he said, adding that 11 other relatives and friends of the main suspect had been remanded to facilitate investigations.
