Former Teratai assemblyperson Jenice Lee Ying Ha today filed a defamation suit against DAP deputy president Tan Kok Wai for allegedly accusing her of corruption, abuse of power and embezzlement.
Jenice Lee filed the suit at the High Court civil registry through her lawyer Michael Wong Chamber.
In her suit, Jenice Lee claimed that on April 23, 2013 which was the third day of campaigning for the 13th general election, Tan had held a press conference at the Taman Muda market situated in the Teratai state assembly and accused her of misconduct.
Jenice Lee said the statement by Tan, who is also DAP disciplinary committee chairperson, was published by Chinese newspapers and on the Internet.
