Pahang has recorded the highest loss of treated water in the country due to broken or leaking pipes and damaged meters said Pahang Housing, Basic Amenities and Transportation Committee chairperson Mohd Soffi Abdul Razak.

He said the state experienced 54 percent treated water loss compared to 35 percent at national level.

“The state government has allocated RM50 million this year for water supply maintenance works and hopes the matter could be handled more efficiently,” he told reporters in Temerloh today.

Members of the public had been urged to call Pengurusan Air Pahang (PAIP) at 09-5739999 to report any broken or leaking pipes, he said.
