Selangor's Backbenchers Club (BBC) has again fired off at two-term Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim for ignoring their demands for more funds to be given to state development in the state budget for next year.

Just ahead of next week's 2014 Selangor Budget presentation, Sinar Harian reported today that the BBC, which consists of Pakatan assemblypersons led by Mohd Azmin Ali of PKR, Lau Weng San of DAP and Hasbullah Ridzwan of PAS, chided Khalid for "trashing" their suggestions.

NONE Azmin ( right ), Lau and Hasbullah are quoted as accusing Khalid of evading the memorandum the Selangor BBC issued last month, which protested against the cutting of nearly RM100 million in development spending.

"Issues such as flood control, public transportation, grants for Selangorku, soil erosion and landslides, allocations for Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (Kuis) and Unversiti Selangor " were among important demands of the rakyat that have not been addressed, BBC is reported as saying.

NONE BBC noted that Khalid met the team on Oct 29 for four hours to iron out some of the issues.

But it complained that Khalid then broke a promise to meet them again the following week.

It said that many of the issues raised were not yet seen in the draft of the budget that is to be tabled next week.

Sinar Harian also reports Khalid's response to the BBC on the same page.

The menteri besar is quoted as saying that there were already on-going meetings with the BBC and gives his assurance that all views had been taken into account for the 2014 budget.

Khalid emphasised that he has an open, consultative style of governance, unlike the pre-2008 Selangor government, and shrugged off BBC's claim of a development budget cut.
