YOURSAY 'The EC always claims to be impartial, and here we have a BN candidate admitting to using government machinery, and yet it asked for proof.'

Show Sg Limau vote-buying proof, EC tells Bersih

your say, YoursayFerdtan: If this is not stupidity, I don't know what is. EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, you are not only blind but dumb as well. Can you not see the free handouts before the polling day in the Nov 4 Sg Limau by-election?

Didn't you hear BN candidate Ahmad Sohaimi Lazim's admission at a seminar last Thursday that state machinery was used to distribute goodies to woo voters in Sungai Limau?

If you think that is not bribe, then you have no business to be in EC. Acting dumb is worse than being dumb.

Old Timer: The EC always claims to be impartial, and here we have a BN candidate admitting to using government machinery, and yet it asked for proof.

Avenger: The EC wants evidence from people who have no powers of investigation, to do searches and make arrests. What next? Lodge a police report and the police tell you to get the evidence for them?

Not Smart: Mr EC chairperson, don't pretend to be naive. We all know that you are stupid over and over again. The defeated candidate had admitted that 'vote buying' did take place.

Just in case you don't know, there are many other ways of buying votes, it need not have to be done using cash.

Oh Ya?: What more evidence do you need? The BN candidate had voluntarily admitted that government machinery was used in campaigning for him. In a court of law, that is an admissible piece of evidence.

What else does the EC chief want? He is so incompetent and inept that he should resign to save himself and his family from disgrace.

Onyourtoes: Abdul Aziz, are you asking Bersih to do your work for you?

Bersih has already highlighted the issue, it is for you to investigate and pass on the information to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) or the police for further investigation.

I tell you what, maybe you should have said this, "The truckload of Federal Agricultural and Marketing Authority's (Fama) chicks were given to whoever who turned up that day, not just the voters.

Besides, those who received the chicks were not compelled to vote for BN. Therefore according to EC's definition, this action did not constitute bribery."

Indeed, what is there to investigate, when one of the candidates has already openly admitted to giving handouts?

Fernz: The EC chairman could not have kept a straight face while dishing out this advice ("Please get the evidence and pass it to the EC, MACC or police.").

Or did he burst out laughing on the sidelines and roll on the floor uncontrollably?

James1067: EC, even if the proof was given to you in black and white you will still find an excuse. Stop testing the intelligence of the Malaysian public. You are like the MACC.

The police will only do selective investigation. There will come a time where changes have to happen and only then will people with principles, honesty and integrity will head the EC.

Abasir: Overheard at the EC: "This is stupid. Our own man owning up! It's time to call in the consultants, I think. There is real work to be done, interviews and investigations to be 'conducted', reports to be written and submitted...

"Someone get me the numbers for Frost & Sullivan, McKinsey & Company and Alpha Platform. I'm sure they can wrap it up for around RM10 million... each."

Quigonbond: Abdul Aziz and his deputy will have what's coming to them one way or another. I don't believe anyone is without conscience.

If they choose some form of ill-gotten profit now, or if their sole reason for acting as they do is due to some misconceived notion of nationalism or patriotism, their conscience will weight on them and one day they will receive appropriate affliction be it in a form of hypertension, heart disease or something chronic.

There is every reason for them to do what is right otherwise not only they become accursed but also their family members will be vilified by the right-thinking public who happens to be majority Malaysian voters right now.

There is always a price to pay when one's integrity is dragged into the dirt.

Senior Citizen: Abdul Aziz, I have a simple advice for you. Prepare a list of all the wrongs you have done to the Malaysian people. Go forth to the TV station and make a public apology and ask for God's forgiveness.

Tell the truth and shame the devil and then immediately submit your resignation letter to the PM and start your penance for all the sins you have committed. That is the only way out for you to start a clean retirement.

Democracy: EC is supposed to be the investigator for the alleged election offence. But by asking Bersih to prove it, they behave like they are the guilty party.
