KINIBIZ Vincent Lee Fook Long is likely to step down as executive deputy chairperson of Star Publications (M) Bhd, the publisher of the newspaper The Star , sources familiar with the matter tell KiniBiz.

It is not clear where Lee is headed to, but he has a relatively large, privately held advertising business, which should keep him busy after his stint at Star Publications.

NONE Lee ( right ) joined Star Publications as a non-independent non-executive director on May 24, 2010 and was re-designated executive deputy chairperson on Jan 3, 2011, which means he could be serving out a three-year contract.

Lee’s resignation the sources added could happen “very soon”, and be part of a larger shuffling of the top brass at the media company.

“It’s not just about him (Lee) leaving, there are other changes as well happening at Star Publications,” the source added.

It is understood that Wong Chun Wai, who was appointed as the acting group chief executive officer of the company on Aug 1 this year, will be designated chief executive officer and Wong may relinquish his position as group chief editor (GCE), to the current deputy GCE 1, June Wong Har Leng.
