PARLIAMENT No civil servants have been sacked over involvement in politics, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim said however, disciplinary actions were taken against nine civil servants between 2010 and 2013 for allegedly being active in politics without permission.

In accordance with the Public Officers Regulations (Conduct and Discipline) 1993, civil servants have to get permission from departmental heads if they want to take part in political activities, he said when replying to a question from Idris Ahmad (PKR-Bukit Gantang).
