The body of the Taiwanese tourist Hsu Li Min, who was shot dead by a group of armed men in Pulau Pom-Pom, Semporna, last Friday, was cremated at the Foo Kui Memory Park Crematorium in Tawau today.

Earlier, Li Min’s body was taken to the Cher Sia Kok Moral Uplifting Society Temple for religious rituals.

His brother, Hsu Li Ren, said his family and relatives were thankful for all the assistance they received in the process.

“Over the past three days, we have received so much help and assistance, especially from the government of Malaysia. We are also thankful for being allowed to hold the cremation process here,” he told reporters in Tawau.

On Nov 15, Li Min, 57, was found dead in a resort in Pulau Pom-Pom with two gunshot wounds on his chest, while his female companion, Chang An Wei, 58, was abducted by an armed group, believed to be a triad from a neighbouring country.
