After claiming that PAS has been sidelined by the Penang state leadership, a delegate has warned that this could also happen in other states.

“Today it is Penang. Tomorrow it could be Selangor. Today we learn from (the experience in) Penang to help PAS mature… To keep leading, we must keep learning,” said Penang delegate Mohd Nor Haron at the PAS muktamar today.

However not everyone in the hall stood up.

"They don't answer our letters but call us nearer to the general election to present the manifesto and seek our help. And after the victory, they throw us aside again," he continued.

He added that from what he understands even today, there are several other areas facing similar problems.

On Tuesday Penang PAS held a press conference claiming “ unreasonable interference ” in the administration of Islamic affairs of the state and lack of consultation with the party, among other issues.

Mohd Nor questioned whether such interference is in line with the state’s policy of competency, accountability and transparency (C.A.T.).

He explained that the state party leadership was forced to act after facing pressure at divisional meetings, branch meetings, and wing meetings.

“We had to hold the press conference after our letters went unanswered. I hope after the this (issue has been raised), C.A.T. will not be a cat that mauls its victims, but be a loving cat,” he said.
