Dr Mahathir Mohamad was discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) today after being admitted on Nov 16 for chest infection.  

 

institut jantung negara ijn 181208 A statement from Dr Mahathir’s office said the former prime minister, who was responding well to treatment, left the General Ward of IJN at 10.30am and was accompanied by his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

“He (Dr Mahathir) will however be required to continue with his exercise programme and physiotherapy,” it said.

While receiving treatment in IJN, Dr Mahathir, 88, received a visit from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on Nov 23 and Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on Nov 19.
