The report by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the National Feedlot Centre scandal has been delayed by a week and will now be tabled in Parliament on Dec 3.
The report by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the National Feedlot Centre scandal has been delayed by a week and will now be tabled in Parliament on Dec 3.
The new PAC line-up endorsed the report last week and it was expected to be tabled today. The previous committee prepared the report.
After a meeting today, PAC chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed said the report includes recommendations for the government for action to be taken on the project, which has been found to have fallen short of objectives.
Nur Jazlan also said that the next in the series of auditor-general’s reports will be tabled in the House on Dec 2.
"We will (then) call up (the) relevant agencies (whose shortcomings) are highlighted in the report," he said.
Today, the committee met the Inland Revenue Board and Customs and Excise Department over late tax collections and issues involving duty-free shops.
Next week, the committee will meet the Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Ministry on the construction of incinerators, some which are not operational.
"The ministry plans to build a few more incinerators, so we will seek an explanation from them over the (earlier) projects," Nur Jazlan added.
