Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is still stuck with the "project mentality", as shown by her urging at the wing's assembly yesterday for Wanita Umno to be given a greater role in the party, PKR said today.

pkr wanita agm 240513 04 zuraida Is it that the women in Umno "have just realised" that the party has three wings and not just two wings, PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin ( left ) asked in a statement today.

"Gender equality started long ago, Shahrizat is still stuck with the Umno project mentality and is sounding the battle cries of fathers and mothers," she said.

In contrast, Zuraida pointed out, PKR has been successful, with women having taken up 30 percent of the leadership at all levels of the party.

"In Selangor, we have achieved 50 percent women in the state administration and almost 30 percent women as state councillors," she said.

Shahrizat, she said, had lost "all her credibility" as a result of the National Feedlot Corporation controversy.

Zuraida also shot down Shahrizat's claim that the social media was a challenge to her political career, adding, "she should know by now that the truth always prevails, and the social media expedites it".
