The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) said today the Johor state secretary’s office has confirmed that it has no objection to commercial banks continuing to observe Saturday and Sunday as rest days.

There are 17 ABM member banks with branch operations in Johor.

On Nov 23, The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, declared the change of the state's rest days to Friday and Saturday, instead of Saturday and Sunday, effective Jan 1, next year.
