'I'd rather stay poor than double-cross anyone'

Pemerhati: There is hope for Malaysia if there are many more people in Malaysia like former top cop Mat Zain Ibrahim and former Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) chief Ani Arope who stood up against Dr Mahathir Mohamad's crooked independent power producers (IPP) deal.

Unfortunately at this point in time, however good and foolproof Mat Zain's evidence is, nothing much will happen. This is because in Malaysia's false democracy, the person with the dictatorial powers who can make things happen is PM Najib Abdul Razak.

Najib will not dare do anything if people like lawyer Shafee Abdullah, attorney-general (AG) Abdul Gani Patail and former inspector-general of police (IGP) Musa Hassan are involved in any wrongdoing as they have a big trump card. That card is Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Kim Quek: Mat Zain's detailed evidence of fabrication of evidence by Gani Patail and Musa Hassan in Anwar's "black eye" incident is of vital importance, as both these personalities have played pivotal roles in the initiation of the current Anwar sodomy trial.

It is therefore imperative that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) re-opens its investigation immediately, pending the outcome of which the Court of Appeal must put its proceedings in abeyance.

It is now for the public and members of parliament to push MACC into action, for which the latter had already been handed the relevant documentary evidence by Mat Zain on Dec 5, 2013.

Mushiro: Indeed, Shafee did not deny that the meeting took place. So what was discussed? Will anyone simply file a statutory declaration (SD) especially on such a sensitive matter and knowing the consequence can be heavy?

What does Shafee's threat to expose Mat Zain's relationship with Anwar, tell? It just shows Shafee's arrogant character and his belief that he can get away with anything. I believe Shafee is losing his marbles.

Anonymous_3e21: Shafee is a recipe for a disaster. He in now inching his way to become the next AG since Gani is retiring next year. So, imagine what Malaysia is set to become with him the AG for Najib?

As for Mat Zain, all sane Malaysians are behind you.

Fair&Just: Just look at the facts and dates being presented and those that have been skewed for the benefit of some quarters, it is very obvious who's speaking the truth, open and being forward.

With the facts and figures displayed, it is also very obvious who are the culprits and perpetrators with ill intent. Have your days in court and all shall be revealed.

Multi Racial: Compare Mat Zain with the majority of those Umno politicians. Firstly, Mat Zain has integrity. Secondly, Mat Zain is courageous. Thirdly, Mat Zain is loyal to the country. Fourthly, Mat Zain is a true Malaysian.

6th Generation Immigrant: Ambiga Sreenevasan against the EC (Election Commission). Ani Arope against the IPPs (independent power producers), Anwar against government misdeeds. Mat Zain identifying crooked key players. There are still a number of good individuals out there fighting hard to save Malaysia.

Where are you, leaders of PPP, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, SUPP, etc. Opportunity knocks on the door now. See the bigger picture and we can put Malaysia back on the right path.

Pakatan should also be using these issues as their theme to get those political parties I mentioned to work together to save Malaysia. There are no permanent enemies or friends, just the rakyat's future.

Hermit: I may be quite late to realise that the honourable Mat Zain has been enticed into the fox's den. As the saying goes, no matter how smart a deer is, it's always the deer that tends to forget the trap, whilst the trap shall never fail.

If it is fated that Mat Zain has been entrapped, I believe a person like Mat Zain is going to turn the den into a gladiatorium. Mat Zain, as the former chief CID, might have not displayed his killing skill in court yet, but he has been a dead smart investigator.

Most of his peers who have had reached his level would have preferred to gallop for the good life but Mat Zain continues on harnessing his investigative mind for the truth, where truths have suppressed along the corridors of the powers-that-be.

Ombak Biru: It is heartening to know that in spite of the colossal corruption, lies, filth and evil in the system, there is a righteous man that stands tall. Mat Zain, God bless you and your family.

MinahBulat: The allegations made by Mat Zain against Shafee are quite damning and I quite agree that Shafee may have breached the Legal Profession Act. Perhaps it is time for the Bar Council to now sit up and take a closer look on the matter.

Can a copy of the statutory declaration be forwarded to the Bar Council for their investigation? If indeed Shafee has breached the Act, the Bar Council must act.

Harapanbaru: The modern ‘Orang Minyak' wears expensive suits, possesses a law degree, and serves the highest bidder. Shafee, evil will not forever prevail in Bolehland.
