'Hold referendum on school-based assessment'

The government should consider a holding a referendum on its troublesome school-based assessment system, which has teachers up in arms, an opposition MP said today.

Many educators find the administration of the system introduced in 2011 that requires plenty of data entry into the computer an extra burden they cannot afford to carry out, the PAS parliamentarian for Temerloh, Nasruddin Hassan, said.
