Police have not dismissed the possibility of Immigration personnel being involved in the RM14 million international drug trafficking syndicate which operated through the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).     

A police source said some of the personnel had even masterminded the entry of foreign drug mules into the country.     

"Not only did their luggage escape inspection, the individuals carrying the drugs also escape the screening.     

"So we can see that this is a syndicate that has a wide network," he told Bernama i n Kuala Lumpur today, when asked to comment on the arrest of 11 men including four Customs senior officers and enforcement officers in raids conducted in the federal capital and Negeri Sembilan on Dec 14 and 16.      

During the operation, police also seized a CZ pistol and magazine as well as 30 bullets.
