Ibrahim Ali: Don't protest over price hikes

voxpop, vox Odysseus: Price hikes will come, like it or not. Unless consumers do something about it on their own, no one is going to listen to them.

Does Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali really believe in sending memoranda to government, will it will solve the problem? Does he think the public believes that we have a government who has ears on the ground?

Pemerhati: Umno and its lackeys like Perkasa would be fully aware that Umno is an illegitimate government as BN only got 47 percent of the popular vote despite giving billions in bribes and despite massive electoral fraud.

Umno was rejected by the electorate because the majority of Malaysians realised that most of them were extremely corrupt and the top leaders were stealing by the billions.

Now after having spent billions of the people's money to bribe the electorate, they find that there is very little money left to steal and so now are going all out to get the public to pay more to cover the deficit.

They have removed or reduced subsidies for commodities like sugar and petrol. The electricity rates, possibly the toll rates as well as the Federal Territory assessment rates will go up soon.

Later the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will squeeze more money out of all Malaysians. All this extra money should more than make up for the money they had used for bribing the voters and hence this would enable Umno to steal as much, or even more than before.

YUNoAnon: For someone who has taken to the streets on numerous occasions himself to protest and demonstrate, Ibrahim Ali is not in a position to give advice.

Gordon Gecko: I have many Malay staff in my company. Most are up to their nose in debts. Fresh graduates earning RM1,200 with study and car loans and rental to pay.

And almost every month I have to give them some small 'soft' loans ranging from RM50 to RM100 to tide them over until payday.

Should I apply the favourite line from Umno ministers - get another job if you're are not happy with your current pay, use RM60 Nokia phone if you can't afford a smartphone, eat ikan bilis and belacan for lunch to save money.

Perkasa, are you not ' pekak ' (deaf) to your own kind?

Unfortunately, the rakyat feels that this government can't read memoranda, can't feel the pulse of the rakyat's despair and is immune to appeals for proper governance, thriftiness and justice.

Wake up Malaysia. When a government makes a promise, it is not wrong for them to break it.

Lesson 1: Promises and rules are made to be broken.

Lesson 2: And in Bolehland, only the one with most 'powderful' make-up calls the shots.

ACR: Well, the elections are over and it is more than four years till the next election and measures would be put in place closer to GE14 to ensure 47 percent of the dopes vote Umno back into power.

But for now, it is time to break every promise from tolls to press freedom to GST, Hindraf's memorandum of understanding, the electricity tariffs, petrol prices and so on.
