Isma should join protest against price hikes
YOURSAY 'Isn’t it too late for Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia to now ‘realise’ that the government is in financial trouble?'
Isma: Price hikes all the fault of Umno
Awakened:
Good question by Isma deputy president Aminuddin Yahaya: Where has the money from taxes and the oil revenue gone?
The money has gone to pay the independent power producers (IPP), Plus and all the Umno crony companies by deliberately giving special favours, lopsided contracts, approved permits (APs) in the name of New Economic Policy (NEP), all at the expense of the government.
Pilferage in government departments highlighted in every Auditor-General’s Report had been ignored. The majority bumiputeras accepted such malpractice and some have been misled and voted BN at every election despite the opposition’s continuous warning that the country finance is in trouble.
NGO Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) is one of the culprits which helps Umno win elections by fanning racial and religious sentiments. Isn’t it too late for Isma to now ‘realise’ that the government is in financial trouble?
Jiminy Qrikert: Isma is an excellent example of ‘Melayu mudah lupa’. In the run-up to the 13th general election, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim promised ‘minyak turun’ if Pakatan Rakyat came to power.
According to Umno, it was saved by the Malays. These Malays did not want 'minyak turun'. If I am not wrong, Isma was one of those Malays who ‘saved Umno’ and bangsa Melayu from the ‘Chinese tsunami’.
Now, Isma is complaining about the price hikes. Where does Isma deputy president Aminuddin Yahaya think price hikes come from if not from ‘minyak naik’ and Umno-BN's mismanagement of Petronas oil revenue and the country's finances?
Bamboo: Aminuddin has pointed out the obvious failure of Umno in managing the country's finances.
Chief contributors of the ballooning national debt and deficit are the stealing of public money in lopsided contracts to toll concessionaires and IPPs, inflated priced contracts to cronies and corruption among office holders.
I hope Isma would shed light on these issues for the less informed rural folks
Lawfool: I’m happy to note that at last, someone pointed out that Umno has been actually running the government for the past 50 years, not BN.
DontPlayGod: Of course, it has always been so. Umno knows how to make the special race lick its hands. They can loot as they wish and they always win the support of the special race with racist rhetoric.
Imagine giving projects to cronies who only own a shell company (formed just to get billion-ringgit contracts) and who knows nothing about these projects nor possess the experience. Good God, our hard-earned money keeps going down the drain.
Straight Talk Joe 51: Maybe the first thing to do is to reclaim the RM250 million (National Feedlot Corporation’s money) from Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s family. Isma, please go ahead and demand the money back so that the poor can have their fair share.
Onyourtoes: How can Umno evade responsibility for the malaise now besetting this country? Umno is not just corrupt, it is also incompetent, stupid and suffers from a lack of ideas.
Umno, you have created enough malfeasance and havoc, so please just step aside and let Pakatan Rakyat manage this country.
I can assure you Pakatan can balance the book, rationalise the subsidies, rein in wastage, control corruption, rectify all privatisation concessions and agreements, allow more cost pass through and market-based economy, dismantle all cartels and monopolies and most importantly, seek retribution and return of all ill-gotten gains from politicians, their families and cronies, past and present.
Little Sparrow: The only way the people can be taken care of and not be burdened by the rising costs is to kick out Umno-BN in the next GE.
If they continue to rule, the people will be burdened forever and their cronies will continue to become richer and richer, and the gap between the rich and the poor will become wider.
Fernz: The police have decided to forget about fighting crime and keeping the peace. They are now focused full time on protecting Umno to continue to remain the government by hook or by crook.
Kawak: Isma, it’s not too late. Join other non-government organisations (NGOs) and protest against the price hikes. And don't forget to protest right-wing pressure group Perkasa as well as they support Umno on this.
Appum: Isma, don't you think you should join Gerakan Turun Harga Kos Sara (Turun) on Dec 31, 2013? Action speaks louder than words.
Abasir: Isma, If you strip former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PM Najib Razak and all the Umno lowlife of their ill-gotten wealth looted over the last five decades, there will be enough for all Malaysians.
