Floods strike Miri, Bintulu and Sri Aman

Continuous heavy rain has caused floods in Miri, Bintulu, Betong and Sri Aman in Sarawak with water of between 0.5m and 1m high reported in some areas in the affected divisions.
Continuous heavy rain has caused floods in Miri, Bintulu, Betong and Sri Aman in Sarawak with water of between 0.5m and 1m high reported in some areas in the affected divisions.
A spokesperson at the State Flood Disaster Operations room said two families in the interior areas in Miri had been evacuated to a relief centre in Marudi.
In Bintulu town, seven residential areas are flooded with water up to 0.5m high.
The areas affected in Sri Aman include the Lancaster King Long House (eight families), Bujau Long House (eight families), Rumah Ujang (seven families), Kampung Sekait (five families) and Kampung Melayu Baru (14 families).
In the Betong division, only Kampung Lalang, Meludam, is affected, but the number of victims affected has yet to be ascertained.
