Malaysia does not belong to Umno, raps DAP

Shamu99: Read the constitution - the country does not belong to Umno, it belongs to every citizen regardless of race or religion. Kuantan Wanita Umno chief Zaiton Mat has no right to make such a call (for opponents of BN to leave the country).

Is she so stupid? The country doesn't belong to Umno and this is one of the many irresponsible remarks made by so called senior Umno members. The PM as usual does not step in to correct such behaviour/remarks. Where is his 1Malaysia? What a disappointment he is.

Multi Racial : It just goes to show Umno has been in power for far too long. As a result of that they begin to think it is their right to govern the country and nobody should question them. To help Umno is to vote them out. Bring them down to earth and after that, they will be more realistic and better. More importantly, voting Umno out will help Malaysia and Malaysians.

SteveOh: Well said Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto. Many Malaysians have emigrated yet are still irked by corruption and what's wrong in Malaysia and have made their feelings known in Malaysiakini and in the blogs.

No one but a usurper will ask someone who disagrees with him to emigrate. Those who ask others to leave should be the first to go, because Malaysia would be a better country with citizens that ask those who disagree with them to stay and solve the problems in truth and justice.

Rahmanwang: There are 52 percent of Malaysian who opposed BN in GE13. Does that mean all those 52 percent should leave? Stupid

Gotcha: Another stupid ass who does not know BN got only 47 percent of the popular votes during GE13. Pakatan received 53 percent of the Malaysian popular votes. She should tell the people of Kelantan to migrate and also the people of Terengganu, where about 48 percent of state assembly seats are held by Pakatan, to migrate too. This woman has true 'udang' brains implanted in her by her seniors in the party.

My Opinion: Zaiton, are you allowing the Penang, Selangor and Kelantan states to leave Malaysia? Not speaking for others, I don't mind if these states leave Malaysia. Within six years they will excel beyond your imagination and the BN states will become like Myanmar of the past.

Ksn: This lady's statement asking those dissenting and objecting to corruption, unfair price increases resulting from bad economic and financial management and incompetence is the standard of Umno Baru politicians.

This lady like those who said the same nonsense before her cannot understand who a government, elected by the people, is responsible to and answerable to. They are incapable of even differentiating the country from a political party, a bankrupt one at that.

It is the people's right to air their views; the right to assemble and protest peacefully is a fundamental right under the law. Instead of addressing the people's concerns and fears, they are asked to leave the country, besides inventing fictional reasons for the protests like wanting to overthrow the government.

To be overthrown is what the present government deserves, but we will do it peacefully by the democratic process called general elections. We will wait for the next GE to do that, but meanwhile, we have every right to register our unhappiness peacefully.

Opus: The last election result is a sham when the BN with just 47 percent of the popular vote can 'win' 133 seats, yet the Opposition's 53 percent popular vote won only 89 seats.

In the UK with its somewhat skewed distribution of parliamentary seats (gerrymandering favouring the Tories and Labour), this anomaly only accounts for 2   3 percent skewing of parliamentary seats resulting in a coalition government.

In the 2000 US general election which George Bush Jr won, the almost dead heat vote count translated to a 271   266 (i.e. five seats difference) electoral college vote. Any rational person will conclude someone had fixed the voting process, if not the results.

Cala: It is nonsensical of Kuantan Wanita Umno chief Zaiton Mat to ask any detractor of the regime to leave the country simply on the grounds of political ideology. She must be reminded that collectively Malaysia is owned not by her but by every one of its citizens.

But who makes the rules? As we know it, the Umno led BN regime won the last general election and through devious means, won a majority seats in parliament despite only securing 47 percent of popular votes.

If Zaiton (and previously Home Minister Zahid Hamidi) could go away without punishment from her party for misbehaviour, uncalled for in a democratic country, it is proof that the regime is subscribing to "extractive political institutions", where absolutism is being promoted and liberalism sidelined.

When a particular organised group keeps talking about in group and out group, me and you, and finally "race, religion, and language" to mark the differences, the group is bordering on fascism.

A fascist would treat others as subhuman (just like what the Japanese did to the Chinese in World War 2) in China, promotes a superior race theory, and believes that he is god sent. But the discredited Darwinian theory of natural selection of human race has been proven wrong, and its proponents (Japan, Italy, Japan) duly punished after the war. Zaiton is showing her ignorance in history.

Put simply, the only way to counter Zaiton and her gang is to vote them out through the ballot box.

Lionking: What shocks us is, how can such politicians come out with such kinds of statements. It shows a lack of maturity and lack of a rounded education in the upbringing of an "Umno" politician.

Instead of having intelligent discussions, they always find an easy way out by telling us to leave the country. Is this the only solution you have? This country does not belong to Umno. So now will the leaders of the component parties of BN say anything on this, or just swallow the shit that has been thrown to them in the last 30 years?

Apa Nama: This is typical of what one calls primitive thinking. Once in power, arrogance gets into one's head. The word primitive thinking was actually coined by our former lord president. the late Mohammad Suffian.

What he said back in 1988 still holds true now and will also hold true in the future as long as BN and Umno are in power. They will say what they feel is right until we voters teach them a lesson by making them the opposition.

Nonbeliever: In Malaysia, other than the aborigines, all others are immigrants. The first to come to Malaysia were the Chinese, followed by the Malays and the Indians. This is a fact that no one, not even god or gods can change.

Funny, up to date none of the Orang Asli have asked me to leave. I think they appreciate my 50 years of hard work for the country. The Orang Asli are good people. If you have a good heart, religion and politics are unnecessary. True?

Arif: Stupidity is acceptable in BN and those who stupidly reveal themselves are considered patriots of the country in BN's world. I've heard about left brainers and right brainers. In BN there is the third kind under the category of no brainers. Or maybe the brain is wrongly located somewhere else?

Kuala Bear: Most of the non-BN supporters will not leave this country because they have contributed and helped build this country.

But the day BN is ousted, BN members especially the bigwigs will leave the country because they are scared that they will be made accountable for their corruption, abuses and crimes. Furthermore they already have property and money stashed overseas.

James1067: After contributing to the nation of hundreds of years of toil and finance so that this country is where it is today, the people who don't agree with BN are advised to leave. How can this politician even make such a statement when a lot of families were here much earlier than her family?

Respect and votes are earned the right way, and not by force and threats. They are earned by being sincere, honest and dedicated politicians.

Fantastic4: It might be a good idea to keep Zaiton's notion, because when Pakatan takes over Putrajaya, just ask the opposition (Umno) to leave Malaysia if they don't like the Pakatan government.
