Several artistes, such as Diana Danielle and Adibah Noor, have taken their concerns over the expected price hikes to Twitter .

Diana, as reported in Sinar Harian today, asked whether there was anybody who liked price hikes and requested that if there was any extra money, to pass it to her.

Singer and actress Adibah Noor, in responding to Diana, said the people are expected “to face the Goods and Services Tax (GST)... run”.

Meanwhile, Pulai MP and Public Accounts Committee chairperson Nur Jazlan Mohamed, in a one-page article in the daily, asked whether the present government truly understood the predicament faced by the people with the expected price hikes.

Nur Jazlan also defended his earlier statement that BN will suffer greater losses in urban and sub-urban areas in the next election if the problem persists.

He said said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has to gather a new set of advisers to handle the latest crisis faced by BN and Umno.

“Najib's trust in his old advisers had failed to result in a better showing in the 13th general election, and the appointment of foreign consultants to bring a positive image should also be avoided,” Nur Jazlan wrote.

He said the people know that the opposition are not as good as BN but warned that they are angry and will vent their frustrations on the BN government.

Nur Jazlan ( right ) said as the leader, the government must have the wisdom and ability to face the problem and resolve it.

“We should not be taken in by all the praises from the advisers as this may lead to a downfall. I am sure Najib is aware of it as he nearly lost in the 1999 general election, with a majority of 214 votes.

“It is not too late to do something to get the people to return to supporting BN again, but all this depends on the leadership making the right decisions,” he said.
