At least Guan Eng didn't buy a Rolls Royce

VOXPOP 'Why don't we make a comparison of cars used by all CMs?'

RM100k Mercedes discount not only for Lim

MinahBulat: I object! Why must Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng get a Mercedes S300L, don't you think it is a bloody shame?

He is the chief minister and he drives an old 2012 model. I say Lim should return the car to the dealer and order the latest, newest model that befits his position as CM of Penang.

Anonymous #02382443: If I were the CEO of an organisation, I would demand the entity buy me the latest Mercedes S500 and nothing less. Why are small-minded people making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Expat: Why don't we make a comparison of the cars used by BN ministers, their deputies and the chief ministers in Sarawak, Sabah, Malacca? There is one among them who drives around in a Rolls Royce.

Umnosyaitan: If BN buy cars, there would be no discount. Instead, there would be a mark-up of another 100 percent.

Well Thats Fantastic: And this is why Pakatan Rakyat would be far better in running our great country.

Ketuanan Rakyat: The Umnoputra-led BN leaders have been siphoning taxpayers' money since former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad took office. No one seems to bother.

When Lim buys an old model Mercedes at a discounted price, we see all these ‘wayang’ by BN shallow-minded leaders. Malaysiakini , please stop entertaining them.

Onyourtoes: Lim, next time just buy and use what you are entitled to. Indeed, no abuse and no corruption is more important than anything else. There is no need to look for discounts or old stock.

The day all these nincompoops stop criticising you for illegal parking, for taking your wife overseas and for buying a discounted Merc would be the day these nincompoops have treated you the same as the BN-Umno politicians.

So don't ever make these nincompoops stop criticising you. It will never happen, so long as you are clean and professional in your job. I hope the nincompoops here and elsewhere understand.

Anonymous $&@?: Yes, I agree with Onyourtoes. The Umno leaders criticise Lim while not seeing the billions of ringgit that is not accounted for once it goes through this Umno minority government's hands.

Myop101: Excluding the tax exemption, that means the Penang government bought the car at the same price as any ordinary Malaysians who could afford it. What's wrong with that?

Under-the-trees learning for these Tamil children

Gggg: The Education Ministry could have waited for the current batch of students to finish their schooling there before ordering the Seaport Tamil school to close.

Angry Bird: It is so pathetic to see the condition of these little ones going to their school. I hope the relevant officials will look into this.

Mosquitobrain: Credit to MIC for going an extra mile to help the BN government cut costs. A school without classrooms - this is a first in Malaysia. To all MIC reps who support BN, well done and keep it up.

MM MM: This school has been relocated probably because the surrounding houses and land which was part of Seaport plantation was surreptitiously allotted to Selangor Umno members and their cronies, and these Umno members are pressuring the Ministry of Education to relocate to add value to their properties.

And land surrounding the school for the playground has been usurped by previous Umno PKNS members for property development.

SMC77: This is the reward for supporting BN in the last GE. Please say thank you to the PM or else you will be removed from the BR1M list.

Ketuanan Rakyat: MIC (Malaysian Indian Cronies of Umnoputras) will now blame the Pakatan state government for the closure of this school. This is under the Education Ministry and is a federal issue, so please don't try to direct this to Pakatan.

Isana: Hand-kisser Kamalanathan of MIC, who is also the deputy education minister, where are you? You should kiss your boss DPM and Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's hand more, why isn't he taking care of the Indians?

Touche: Do you think the BN government cares for the Indians? Umno only gives lip service to MIC, which is nothing but just a lapdog waiting for a bone.

Tholu: To PM Najib Razak's 'Endless possibilities', I will add, 'The sky is the limit.'

Yes Najib, depriving the children of a school and ditching them under the open sky is your immoral and unethical notion of endless possibilities.

CiViC: What do we expect? The BN-Umno government is wiping out the Christians first, then the Indians and soon even those Malays who are not Umno members.
