Batu Caves state assemblyperson Amirudin Shaari has offered himself as a PKR Youth chief candidate in the coming PKR party election, expected in March.

In a statement yesterday, Amirudin said the decision was made after receiving feedback from supporters.

"After receiving backing and guidance from my friends, especially the members of PKR Youth across the nation, I would like to offer myself as a candidate as PKR Youth chief in the PKR election this year," he said.

Amirudin said he would like to see PKR Youth become more empowered and progressive.

Incumbent PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, who will turn 40 this year, is expected to step down in the coming party election as he has exceeded the age limit of 35.
