Anonymous #59776387: Hard Rock Café is a restaurant for just about anybody, from grandpas and grandmas to little babies who want to eat and enjoy some music.

I don't see toddlers and teenagers leaving the restaurant drunk. People go there with friends for ‘makan-makan’. My friends and I often go there for lunch and ice-cream.

Lim Chong Leong: I say this because there is no way from the commercial sense would Hard Rock Cafe want to open in Putrajaya since it is not the most happening place. It would be against their company policy and image in the first place to even consider that place.

So why plan to open there if not to create some hue and cry by Perkasa and with the government agreeing with them, they will come out looking pretty good in defending Islam and Malay culture. All ‘sandiwara’ (show).

Changeagent: I agree with Lim Chong Leong that this is all ‘sandiwara’ by Perkasa and the federal government given that an alcohol ban has always been in place in Putrajaya. Everyone knows that eateries like TGIF are not allowed to serve alcohol there.

But I would add that it is the federal government, not Hard Rock Cafe, that is in strife here for being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

They are damned if they speak out against Perkasa's racial hatred and vitriol, and damned if they do not remain complicit to Perkasa's increasingly religious extremism.

Anonymous #47435535: Perkasa says beer and bikes (in reference to Hard Rock Café) is a no-no because Putrajaya is modelled after Medina. But corruption, cronyism, nepotism is okay? Perkasa is truly intelligent.

I think Hard Rock Cafe should sue this ignorant man.

CiViC: Putrajaya is the country's administrative capital, not its Islamic capital. If they are so persistent about it, please also ban everything else in Putrajaya: cinemas, cafes, shopping complexes, fireworks shows, K-Pop concerts and the list goes on.

Not Confused: You want/need tourists to visit Malaysia to help the economy, therefore you will also need to cater for the needs of more progressive and the moderate international travellers and tourists.

Putrajaya is already tainted beyond belief, with all the corruption and fraud perpetrated by those involved in developing and building the city. Get over it and join the rest of humanity. Putrajaya can never be a Medina.

Factnot Fiction: Buildings cannot corrupt people, neither can they make people holy. It is people who can render buildings holy or corrupt. Indeed, corrupt people who enter a holy place will corrupt the place.

Wouldn't they be better serving their religion in trying to eliminate corruption in Putrajaya or solve the conflicts in Syria, Egypt, and elsewhere in the Middle East?

Ontoi: Perhaps Putrajaya with its Islamic motif should not allow any non-Muslims to be present there too.

Odin: Putrajaya can be described as a Sin City. Trysts in hotel rooms, stealing by the billions, murder, cheating, lying, inciting hatred, falsely incriminating others, and the rest of it, takes place there.

Of course, they also commit relatively minor infractions such as squeezing waitresses' behinds. Compared to these, Hard Rock Café is really almost like a house of worship.

Onyourtoes: This is another diversion to irritate you so that you will not talk about endless lavish parties, new jet flying around, someone's new mega penthouse in New York's Central Park, a new movie financed by some third world tycoons, and of course the price of sugar, petrol, electricity, tolls, GST (Goods and Services Tax), et cetera.

What is there to talk about moral decadence? The whole country has whorehouses, GROs (guest relations officers) and massage parlours more than London, Sydney and Tokyo put together.

What is there to talk about leadership? Just go all private clubs and joints and six-star hotels and see how the ruling elite, the rich and famous live their lives.

NH Gong: A Flintstones mentality prevails in our world class backwaters. Putrajaya does not even have decent traffic lights. You have to wait your turn for each light to change in turn - up to five minutes.

My kampung has smart lights that will not turn green if there is no car in the lane. Or did someone bill Putrajaya for something state of the art, but supplied them something from the

SS Dhaliwal : If it was a non-Muslim having plans to open Hard Rock Café in Putrajaya, he would have been chastised and berated, but since it is a Malay tycoon, they are not criticising a fellow Muslim but merely requesting the government's intervention.

Again Perkasa portrays the Malays as weak, clueless, perpetually confused, people who do not know the difference between right and wrong and have no mental capacity to make their own decisions.

Abasir: This Perkasa fellow needs to do his homework and find out who the people behind Hard Rock Cafe really are. I'm sure he'll be shocked.

SenyumUnta: Putrajaya Corporation should just hand over Putrajaya to Perkasa to administer. Ban all non-Muslims from entering Putrajaya and save it from defilement. All women there must be made to wear the burqah.

All entertainment outlets, cinemas, shopping centres and kopitiams and what not must be banned.

Ksn: It appears that Perkasa has taken over Putrajaya from Umno Baru sooner than expected. Prime Minister Najib Razak, take care. Malaysia is heading in the right direction to disaster.
