Google today swapped its usual red, blue, yellow and green colours for a portrait of directer and writer Yasmin Ahmad as its logo.
The modified logo which Google calls a ‘doodle’, is in conjunction with Yasmin’s 56th birthday.
Yasmin, known for her inspiring TV advertisements and films that highlight the ethnic and religious complexities of Malaysia, passed away on July 25, 2009.
“Today’s Google doodle commemorates the life and work of Yasmin Ahmad, who sought to bring together Malaysians of every gender, ethnicity and persuasion,” the search engine giant said in a statement today.
Google also thanked Yasmin’s family for their permission and approval for using her portrait.
Among her films were ‘Sepet’ (2004), ‘Gubra’ (2006), ‘Mukhsin’ (2007) and ‘Muallaf’ (2008).
