The serious danger is the Malay Bible. It can turn Malays into Christians - that is the ‘real’ threat around here.

Corruption, crime, and ‘kenaikan harga barang untuk mengkayakan crony’ (price hikes to enrich cronies), etc, are all very trivial and small matters, why focus on them? Focus on the ‘real’ danger - the Bible in the Malay language.

The world will laugh at us if we focus on minor matters like the increase in prices, corruption and cronyism while forgetting the ‘real’ danger.

Hang Babeuf: There is an English expression to convey the idea of getting something for nothing, something undeserved or without personal effort. It is said to be like "getting money for old rope".

In this case, somebody is putting themselves out to get money for Wanita Umno leader Raja Ropiaah Raja Abdullah. Who? Boustead Holdings Bhd? Or somebody else behind it all?

Who are they? Who is this whole crowd, this pack of thieves?

Sodom Me Sodom You: Rafizi, I have the highest respect for your zeal and commitment in revealing these wrongdoings. But what is the point of it all?

Even if their pants were down, there is nothing anyone can do. The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission? The Royal Malaysian Police? Ministers? Judges? Not one soul.

Bamboo: If the billions looted were to be distributed among Malaysians, we would each get thousands of ringgit each. We can buy all the tolled roads and subsidised essentials and petrol without incurring national debt.

The main bulk of the national debt are parked in overseas bank accounts and assets of the elites.

Mosquitobrain: This is Umno-BN’s culture since the early 80s. Try to eradicate corruption, then see what will happen to Umno-BN. Your guess is as good as mine.

Metallic: Come on Ropiaah! How can you allow them to spread lies? Say something. Sue them. How could such a hardworking, honest and creative entrepreneur like you be accused with fitnah ? They're simply jealous of you. Tell us it’s not true.

Comango banned, Home Ministry says it's 'illegal'

Malaysian Born: This is all truly silly. These are all honest, hardworking Malaysian citizens over the age of 21, who are by the way, also voters. By banning books and organisations, you do nothing to change their minds, nor are you going to intimidate them into sitting quietly.

These are not ruffians and extremists, neither are they rent-seeking losers looking for the next handout. These are the responsible people who keep this country ticking. So when they speak up, at the very least, do pay attention.

The use of the government machinery to suppress and subjugate them is very short-sighted and meaningless. It will not change anything, except to upset them and make them feel that more needs to be done.

This absurd fear of human rights and belief that letting people think for themselves is a bad thing really is unacceptable.

Raja Chulan: The peoples in the Coalition of Malaysian NGOs (Comango) need not worry at all. Even Umno, Persatuan Hindraf Malaysia, etc, etc, were all 'declared' illegal at one time or another.

In a way, being declared illegal by the authorities here is indeed a sign of recognition that you have made an impact.

Being recognised and heard overseas (especially at the United Nations) is much more important than being declared illegal in this country. Comango, please continue with your good work.

Ong Guan Sin: With this outrageous action, this government of Umno-BN has completely lost its moral standing and integrity in the eyes of the people.

I would like to believe that it's only a small group of incompetent high-level officers in the ministry that have acted against Comango, consequently tarnishing the reputation and standing of the whole government.

However, there are plenty more ministers who will stay silent and not sanction these errant officers, thus indirectly accepting the situation. How sad.

Touche: It’s simple, the government banned Comango because the government does not like Comango. Why doesn’t the government ban groups like Perkasa, Isma and Perkida?
