Odin: Deputy solicitor-general II Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah, I put it to you that when you were asked whether it was proper for police to investigate Father Lawrence under Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948 and you said “no comment”, you meant it was improper.
Onyourtoes: This is fast - investigation completed, sent to the attorney-general (AG) and AG too has studied the papers and sent back to the police for further investigation.
If only the police are as efficient in their investigation against Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria. How then you expect Malaysians to respect the police and the authority in general.

Disbeliever: I just don't understand. Father Lawrence Andrew was investigated under the Sedition Act for just stating what is allowed in the federal constitution.
Yet, you have the infamous Ibrahim Ali and his call for the burning of the Malay Bible, Zulkifli Nordin insulting the Hindus and Ridhuan Tee Abdullah spewing seditious remarks.
Do we have one set of laws for the ordinary layman and a different one for the likes of these three stooges?

When a crazed state mufti calls for the killing of his fellow countrymen for just opposing government policies, you know hate crimes are on the way. Too bad, Malaysia; Allah has forsaken you for now at least.

Jiminy Qrikert: The more educated Malay commoners witness the twisted logic and values of Muslim religious leaders, politicians, lawyers, academia and intellectuals in this persecution of Christians, the more of them will cry out silently for justice.
And the more they cry out for justice not forthcoming from their own religion, the more helpless they feel. If there is no real justice shown by their own Muslim brethren, no solution for justice in Islam, then they may feel the need to take up the cross.
Fernz: The Court of Appeals only said that the home minister followed procedures when it directed Catholic weekly The Herald not to use ‘Allah’ in its Bahasa Malaysia section when referring to God.
What does it mean? Nothing. The appellate court ruling only refers to The Herald and no one else.
Negarawan: Umno uses the courts to cheat and lie its way through, like in this ‘Allah’ case. But outside Malaysia, Umno will be put to shame.
Remember Pedra Branca - Malaysia had claimed its photograph showing the island very close to the mainland was obtained from a blog, implying that it was from an independent source.
Singapore called the blog "most unusual" - it had been created only a month earlier; the photograph had only been uploaded four days before the oral proceedings; and there was no information on the blogger's identity.
Vijay47: Tun Majid is another spineless officer from the same mould as the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC). Asked whether it was proper for police to investigate Father Lawrence, that miserable Tun Majid curtly replied, “No comment.”
The fact that you have the authority to demand further investigation means you also have the authority to cease further investigations. You are so quick to urge police action when no offence had been committed, especially against an invalid law that is contrary to the constitution.
No law, whoever decreed or sanctioned by, cannot be against the supreme law of Malaysia. Yet you are so tolerant when a mufti calls for the murder of people acting in accordance with what the constitution permits.
For heaven's sake, Majid, be a man of honour, take a stand even if it be against your masters. Is Malaysia so lacking in such men of integrity? Right now the best we have are those who voice their "regret" .
Fair Play: In truth, Father Lawrence Andrew is not on 'trial' but the entire nation is. The world Muslim and Christian communities are watching and the powers-that-be will have to tread carefully.
Hang Babeuf: The choice facing Malaysia is a simple one. Does the country wish, and choose, to rush headlong, behind the zealots and at their dizzily "intoxicated" insistence, to the edge of the abyss? Or do the country and its people wish to live, to live in peace, to show good sense and judgement?
That is the fateful ‘existential’ choice now facing Malaysia. Oh, yes, and by the way: it would be good if the PM and his government could try to make clear where they stand on this central national issue. Soon. There may not be all that much time.
