US imam: Barring use of 'Allah' besmirches God

PCG: Certain Malaysian imams and those in Umno are holier compared to imams and Muslims in the rest of the world.

So for an American imam to say "Islamic religious authorities in Malaysia are actually besmirching the name of Allah", it is a very blasphemous thing.

First, imam Muhammad, you are not a Malaysian. You live in the United States, the land of lesbian, gay, bisexual and same-sex marriage people.

You fellows drink, indulge in free sex and watch pornography. We don’t do all these despicable things, except sometimes we make pornography, but at least we do not watch them.

Secondly, Malaysia is different, we do things our way; you know “mengikut acuan kita” so to speak. I can assure you this phrase will be coming up soon.

Everything from management of our economy, election and democracy, handling governance issues, human rights, religions, to sedition and security, we have our own unique way.

Fernz: The only way to stop non-Muslims in Peninsular Malaysia from using the word ‘Allah’ is to expel all Sabahans, Sarawakians, Indonesians and Timorese from the peninsula, ban them from entering, kick out Sabah and Sarawak from the federation, and ban non-Muslims in Malaysia from using Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia.

Anonymous #07910507: ‘ Ishwar Allah Tere nam, subko sanmathi deh Baghwan. ’ These lines are from a Hindi film song sung by Mohammad Rafi. They mean “O God, Ishwar and Allah are your names, Bless all O God”.

The Umno government has made a fool of themselves before the whole world. If the Christians are really smart and wise, they would just leave this at that.

It is no longer about whether any one can use the word ‘Allah’, but it has become a challenge to the Malays.

Kawak: PAS Ulama chief Harun Taib and Perak mufti Harussani Zakaria should have a debate with the American imam on this issue. I am sure the PAS cleric and the Perak mufti will argue that the word ‘Allah’ is exclusive to the Malay Muslims.

1Melayu: Imam Muhammad, I think someone needs to inform you that in Bolehland, we have a special breed of Muslims called 'Umno Muslims'.

Their motive of banning the use of the Arabic word has nothing to do with Islam but to create hatred and anger between Muslims and non-Muslims. Umno Muslims want to use this ‘Allah’ issue to stay in power.

Kim Quek: Reading this stern article from the imam in Central Florida, it pains me to be reminded how far some of our Muslims have strayed from the true teachings of Islam, thus damaging not only the image of Islam, but also inflicted untold injury to fellow Malaysians of other faiths.

If these Malaysian Muslims are true Muslims, they should give this article serious thought, and search their conscience whether they have been faithful to the teachings of their Holy Quran.

Ratbatblue: Actually, this matter of using the word can be easily solved if it were referred to the central authority governing the religion itself. The Muslim scholars in Al-Azhar University in Egypt could be a good reference point for starters.

Just as the Catholics refer issues to The Vatican, perhaps this issue could be brought up to the highest Islamic authority on the planet, and their opinion could be solicited. Their verdict should be respected by our local wise men.

Gerard Lourdesamy: Dear imam Muhammad, please do not visit Malaysia because it is overrun by Muslim infidels who believe that Almighty Allah is a Malay Muslim who is highly sensitive and needs to be protected at all times by mortals and is sympathetic to Umno in order to preserve Malay political supremacy in this country.
