If nobody actually ordered Azmin Ali to leave the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), then perhaps his dismissal can be reversed, Anwar Ibrahim said today.

Adding that the proper process may not have been followed, Anwar recommended that Selangor MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim reinstate the Gombak MP who was dropped early last week.

“The whole dismissal process is flawed... The state admits that, the MB acknowledges that. PKNS said it was taking instructions. If that is the case then the letter has to be withdrawn,” Anwar told reporters at the PKR headquarters.

“The general manager... although he thinks he is acting under instructions, but the process is wrong.”

Azmin, who was sitting next to Anwar, said he had no comment and deferred to Anwar’s statement. Anwar added that Azmin’s tenure on the PKNS board remains until 2015.

Asked by a reporter about 'rumours' that he wished to change the Selangor MB, Anwar said curtly that since these were rumours, he would not confirm it.

However, he said that Azmin's dismissal should have a clearer reason and the state must not pass the buck around.

Anwar said he can't accept Khalid's statement that PKNS general manager Othman Omar made the decision to drop Azmin ( left ) since Khalid and the Selangor state executive council (exco) held the final say on such matters. PKNS later denied this and pointed back to exco.

Anwar then went on to take jabs at Khalid's other recent policy decisions on restructuring water industry, executive pay hikes and business license costs.

He reminded Khalid that all three policies needed to be made in the people's interest and reiterated a call first made over a month ago by Pakatan leaders for Selangor state to moderate the approved pay hikes for 2014.

"We are not BN...give a reasonable hike in sympathy with the problems also faced by the rakyat," Anwar said.

He then qualified why he is openly criticizing his own PKR member.

"This is what I call a renaissance and reform agenda. We are not committed to faulty decisions by the previous administration.

"Unlike Umno, which is used to secretive sort of deals, we are quite open. My role is to say point taken, don't go beyond that and let's discuss again," he said.
