NGO Jalur Tiga (Jati) is upset with Umno for withdrawing its lawsuit against PKR vice-president Tian Chua over his remarks that Umno was making a show out of the Lahad Datu intrusion last year.

 

Jati deputy president Aidit Ghazali said the move has created discontent among Umno members as well as Islamic NGOs, according to Umno-owned Mingguan Malaysia .

 

He added that the refusal to pursue Tian Chua until the end will encourage more “insolent behaviour" from the opposition.

 

"Umno leaders need to differentiate between issues affecting the party and issues with significance to race, religion and country.

 

"We do not want the good name of Umno to be sullied due to the withdrawal of the lawsuit because those that are guilty must be taught a lesson," he was quoted as saying.

 

On Monday, Umno's executive secretary Abdul Rauf Yusof revealed that the party and Tian Chua had resolved the matter in an out-of-court settlement .
