Shafie: I've not stopped building roads in Kelantan
Rural and Regional Development Minister Shafie Apdal took a potshot at the Selangor government for ordering the closure of the Giat Mara vocational training centre in Selayang Baru.
Rural and Regional Development Minister Shafie Apdal took a potshot at the Selangor government for ordering the closure of the Giat Mara vocational training centre in Selayang Baru.
He also drew a comparisons with the aid his ministry has given to the PAS-led Kelantan government.
"The children who study at GiatMara, these are not Sampoerna (Sabah) people who pledge support to Umno. These are Selangor kids. Don't tell me they can't think about this," he said at a GiatMara event in Kuala Lumpur today.
"What we are doing (with GiatMara) is not political in nature. All these years, I have never stopped building roads in Kelantan although PAS has led the state for over 20 years. That's how we (in federal government) do things.
"We are the ones who build roads, but we are labelled as the bad ones. They (opposition) do nothing but give speeches and talk, but they are labelled as the good ones.”
However, Shafie did not reveal the next course of action that his ministry would take regarding the alleged closure of the centre, merely saying that his ministry has received the state government’s letter and was taking the matter “seriously”.
“I don’t want to jump to conclusions. We are taking this matter seriously, and I will consider all facts before making a statement,” he said.
He said that his ministry is looking at all legal options available to them regarding the centre.
