Perkasa, what race is the kangkung?

YOURSAY ‘Is kangkung a Malay, Chinese, India, Iban or ‘lain lain’?’

Perkasa: Kangkung furore can spark May 13 repeat

Sali Tambap: The threat of May 13 is rather old, isn't it? Sorry Perkasa’s Muhammad Zahid Md Arip, you are 43 years too late. It is not 1969 anymore, you know.

You can pit the Malays against the Chinese, but you are lacking issues to whip the Malays into a frenzy. It's the other way round, the rakyat do have issues - for example price hikes which result in them living through their noses.

These are people who may have causes to riot but they are too smart for that. No, they will not. Why would they if they can solve it through the ballot box?

You can call for war but if nobody come, what are you going do? Fly kites? But actually you are bluffing, which is quite common in a bully. It only takes someone to stand up to you and you will have your tail between your legs.

May 13 could still happen, but more likely it will be over the Allah issue. And that will not be in Selangor but probably in Borneo, the heartland of the Dayaks.

And you would not like it when the Dayaks are angry...

Anonymous #42402094: These people have perfected the art of deflection from the main thorny issue - price hikes. The ordinary folks know what you rent-seeking guys are up to.

I believe your days of playing race and religious cards will be over soon. You will get what you deserved from the rakyat.

Debater: It is about the economy which affects everyone, and it just happened that the Machang Bubuk state representative is a Chinese Malaysian and the PM is a Malay Malaysian.

Noticed that the crowd at the recent rally against the price hikes are mostly made up of Malays?

EvenSteven: Muhammad Zahid, why do you talk bad about DSAI (Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim)? Don't you know he is a Malay and a Muslim? So are you also anti-Malay and anti-Muslim?

I don't care if the PM is brown, black, yellow or purple. If he is doing a lousy job - and he is doing a lousy job - I'll criticise him all the same. Get a life, Zahid, and don't be a satay man, trying to fan the fire.

Antoine Ross Deliones: What can you say about someone who threatens to start a riot that kills many innocent people over just a spinach?

He cannot be someone who loves his country. Anyone who loves his country would willingly accept a slap on the other cheek to keep peace and harmony.

Tan Kim Keong: Muhammad Zahid, it is racial when you want to make it racial. You can only trick your members into believing it to be racial.

You are an opportunist and your strategy is incitement. Others will be asking how on earth did criticising the PM becomes racial.

Apa Nama: Muhammad Zahid, if you are so smart, can you please tell us what is the race and religion of this kangkung. Is kangkung a Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban or ‘lain lain’? Does kangkung have a religion?

Kee Thuan Chye: He's talking rubbish and he knows it. His intention is to frighten people. He's not that stupid.

Malays and non-Malays are equally suffering from the rising cost of living, and the people who slammed PM Najib Razak for his remark in the social media hailed from all races.

They are fed-up with the government and they are not making it into a racial issue. Only Umno and Perkasa would, for no logical reasons. Except to save a government that is losing popularity.

Clever Voter: It all boils down to the shrinking pie, and we have entered a very dangerous situation where there is a risk of it getting out of control.

We are in a denial that not much leftovers can be passed around, rent-seekers are now running riot over all sorts of issues. A strong but fair government can prevent this, but many will agree we don't have one.

Unafraid: To Perkasa, everything is racial and if in doubt, just blame the Chinese. This is so sickening. The kangkung jokes and ridicules are all over the Internet and spread by all races, Malays included.

It has also gone international and the world is laughing at our PM who responded almost immediately to the kangkung issue and yet is as silent as a mouse over more pressing national issues like the Allah issue. What kind of a leader is he?

Fernz: Najib cannot insist that the people must respect him. They didn't choose him to be prime minister. No one is going to die just because of his stupid kangkung remark.

The next May 13 will be Malays (from Umno) killing Malays (from the opposition).

SpongeBob: The Parliament should pass a law to prevent people from criticising, commenting and disrespecting the prime minister. In Malaysia, PM is given God status by Umno, Perkasa and Malay NGOs.

For your information, the prime minsters of many democratic countries are being criticised whenever it warrants.

Pacaba Patriot: Could this be the case of the last kangkung to break the camel's back?

Ready to riot over a piece of vegetable
