Three Selangor PKR leaders today led a small gathering in front of the State Development Corporation (PKNS) headquarters in Shah Alam to show “solidarity” with transferred PKNS duo Othman Omar and Norita Mohd Sidek.

Kuala Langat MP Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, Batu Caves state assemblyperson Amiruddin Shaari and former Kapar MP S Manickavasagam led a group of about 20 people in handing over a solidarity letter and bouquet of flowers to PKNS official Ishak Hashim.

The move is in support of Othman and Norita who were transferred by the Selangor state government, pending investigation into the controversy surrounding PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’s removal from his position on the PKNS board of directors.

“The proper procedure was not followed in transferring the duo. It is clear that they have been unfairly treated,” Abdullah Sani, who is also Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) deputy president, said in urging the state government to reinstate the duo pending a full enquiry.

"An enquiry should have concluded first before any action is taken on them. The state should not transfer them without completing an investigation first," Abdullah Sani ( left in photo ) said.

He added that the duo can consider taking legal action if they are unhappy with their transfer.

The group consisted of several Selangor PKR members, who marched quietly to the entrance of the PKNS building before handing over the letter over to Ishak, the corporate communications manager.

Abdullah Sani also urged for Azmin to be reinstated on the board, while stressing that the actions of the group should not be seen as going against the Selangor state government.

"We are just following our principles to champion the cause of civil servants, whoever the issue may involve. What’s important is that the welfare of the staff must be taken care of," he noted.
