YOURSAY An independent commission will save lives and improve policing standards.
MP slams Kedah cops for denying beating case
Ipohcrite: From the worrying trend of increasingly more cases of policemen abusing their power, it appears that rogue policemen have now taken over the force and are running its operations.
Worse, the top brass is trying to downplay and even cover up their transgressions. We need the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC).
JungleMonkey: The police will come out with another report, that Zul Hilmi Abdul Rahman's claim is false. They will say that he had beaten himself all over his body and crushed his own testicle in order to be bailed out of jail.
Swipenter: Zul must have fallen down while urinating and hurt his groin but never disclosed this accident to Alor Setar MP Gooi Hsiao Leung.
His four relatives must get their eyes examined for seeing bruises on Zul's body. Or were they just hallucinating?
Maybe they should order blood tests for them too. Now Zul is blaming the police for his mishap and MP Gooi took his bait. How is that for a story?
Appum: The police seem to be living in the past when they were addressed as "datuk", when they seemed to wield supreme powers. The existing leadership has to take some part of the blame for this kind of mentality and their degrading actions.
They do not realise that people today are more educated and know their rights. That is why as a first step to change, morally and mentally, we need to have the IPCMC in place.
We urge the government to implement this commission immediately, to save the people’s lives and let the standard of policing improve.
Anonymous_3e06: The police will not do anything further unless Umno pushes for it and then there will be some investigations.
Until then, DAP can scream from the top of the mountain but nothing will happen. It is not about a Malay who is a victim but it is about whether he is an Umno leader. That is how the system is asked to work; Protect Umno, not the Malays, or the rest.
Anonymous #19098644: It is heartening to see that a Chinese MP is taking up the civil rights case of a Malay. It is saddening that the police instead of determining the truth and enforcing discipline in their ranks chose to not even take a statement from the plaintiff.
This is an outright cover up kangaroo inquiry and reflects on the sad state of the police force.
Guna Otak Sikit: The police investigating itself? What do you expect?
Anonymous #039163649: This action by a few cops tarnishes the good name of the whole force.
Onyourtoes: We complain to the police for abuse and torture committed by the police - so much for rules of natural justice we rant about every day.
It makes me laugh when the police want to charge protesters with violation against parliamentary democracy. A third world rogue state has no notion on human decency, much less on parliamentary democracy.
YUNoAnon: So did the victim trip and fall by himself? Or did he repeatedly run into the wall?
If the injuries he claims he received are genuine, how did he get them? Self-inflicted? Really?
This is a kangkung theory.
Well Thats Fantastic: At least in the wild west there were heroes and villains, seems the wild west we live in, only has villains.
On entry ban, Utusan cites J-porn star as example
Yap cs: Utusan Malaysia indirectly is equating Anwar to porn star Maria Ozawa. But Anwar’s conviction was overturned by the Federal court which means he is not guilty of the charges. Utusan, of course, ignores this.
The Mask: Perkasa should now go after Utusan for promoting Maria, a porn star. Now everyone is looking for Maria's videos (underground of course). I bet you that Perkasa members are now itching to find out why Utusan is using Maria as a comparison.
Spartacus: Wow - looks like Awang Selamat is a fan of Japan AV star Maria Ozawa, that's why he knows that Japan has a porn star by this name.
CQ MUAR: Nothing good comes out of Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia except junk. How often have they been sued and subsequently tendered public apologies for unsubstantiated accusations.
It is most uncouth and beyond comprehension how they could have associated Anwar with this Ozawa porn star.
Chikadee: Utusan promoting pornography? Many will now want to find out more about this Maria. Thanks to Utusan.
YUNoAnon: So these people know about this actress? So much for your holier than thou attitude.
Bury lynas: What an idiotic comparison between ex-deputy prime minister and adult movie star. If Japan has laws on corruption, why can other ministers go in and out of Japan without problems?
Not Confused: And the relevance of this is?
Guna Otak Sikit: Dear Utusan , Ozawa-san knows she is a star so she knows why a country bans her visit. As for Anwar, the Umno-led government tried very hard but could not make any sex-related charges stick.
What a shame a government has to stoop so low to defame a citizen, Your paper has been trying very hard as part of this effort.
No wonder your paper has lost all credibility and court cases. Looking at Ozawa-san is more worthwhile than reading it.
Xxxx: I guess it's time to ban the entry of the movie Wolf of Wall Street producer Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz as producer of an movie obscene by Utusan standards?
