YOURSAY ‘Badminton is badminton and politics is politics. Both don't mix.’
Chong Wei surprised by Kajang rumours
Fair Play: What a joke and indeed BN's desperation has sunk to its lowest level. Apart from smashing the shuttle cock around in all directions in a badminton what else could national badminton ace Lee Chong Wei do? Now it all boils to popularity.
So, why not nominate former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, since his evergreen 'popularity' is always on the minds of the right-thinking rakyat?
DevilsSlaughter: I suggest MCA to invite Jackie Chan to stand as their candidate for the Kajang by-election to increase the chance of winning! A hopeless political party led by a clown!
Apa nama: Lee, badminton is badminton and politics is politics. Both don't mix. So you just focus on badminton and say "No" to politics. This politics is not your headache and reject any pull factor.
Mohamad Abdul Malik: You do not send your car to a doctor to be repaired, do you? And of course if you were sick, you do not ask the neighbourhood mechanic to treat you, do you?
Onyourtoes: Lee, I supported you in badminton and fought against those who criticised you after losing to Chinese national badminton champion Lin Dan when the air-conditioning was suddenly switched off. You can check the record on this. But in politics, you better stay clear and listen to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on this occasion.
Despite your popularity, you cannot win. If you win, you still cannot do much for Kajang, Selangor and Malaysia as much as you can do for badminton and sports. Don’t punch above your weight and don’t indulge in delusion and pretension. But if MCA wants you to be its president, then I suggest you take it.
Bystander: I am not at all surprised that these peabrains beings would toy with the idea of fielding Lee against Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim knowing their highly-questionable intellects! Since when do they learn to base choices on suitability and meritocracy?
What can Lee do to help the Kajang voters if he wins, except perhaps to improve their badminton skills; albeit the country would be facing hunger and strife if we are not careful. What a laugh this BN government would be.
Anonymous #57883242: Now who is misusing the election process?
Malaysia Truly Asia: Now everyone is scared and getting ready to run. Lee did not even say he wanted to be a candidate, what more want give up a lucrative career in badminton, but then as Anwar said, he does not want to be menteri besar, and Lee said he does not want to enter politics. How?
Oriole: Lee, please stick to what you are good at. Skills with the racquet do not qualify you for political candidature. Let's not get the two confused.
Malaysia Truly Asia: Just because a person practices his or her democratic right to stand for assemblyperson he or she must be cursed. This is sadly the type of politics that Pakatan /DAP supporters practice. I never heard a single BN/Umno supporter curse, mind you, curse, another opponent.
All of you go see yourselves in the mirror and se the devil in you. Stop this curse business as it shows your love for this country.
Imran Haaaa: I think Lee is a PKR supporter la. Just because he plays for the country, BN assumes that he is a MCA supporter.
Argonist: No one in BN makes sense! Please make Lee the candidate as he is so popular and since he is a 'datuk' for all that he has contributed to Malaysia and to the development of the nation with Lamborghini cars to match. He is certainly the apt choice for BN and especially the MCA.
Gunnerrun : I see a repeat of national football hero Soh Chin Aun being fielded many years ago. I wonder what happened? Let Lee concentrate on the remaining time he has to capture more world titles before he calls it quits, for good.
Freethinker: Nominate Lee? So in the 14th general election (GE14) are we going to see more movie stars and celebrities as candidates? BN had never been short of actors, why the need to get celebrities?
Tentarik: For once Khairy makes sense. Lee, be smart, do not allow yourself to be used by these politicians. If MCA is serious to challenge Anwar, send Mr President Liow Tiong Lai or Wee Ka Siong to contest. Better still, send in Mahathir. Then once and for all you will know where BN stand in the eyes of the electorate. Don't talk, just do it.
Not Smart: This simply goes to show that BN is desperate; really has NO capable candidate; and taking advantage of Chong Wei's current popularity. Don't they realize that he can't even speak well at an interview? How is he going to speak for the rakyat?
Will Liow, Wee and Chua Soi Lek be his mouthpiece ah? Putting him out there is just as good as not participating in the by-election. Come on BN, surely you can do better than this.
If MCA doesn't have anyone capable you have got MICkeymouse, Armno, Gelakan, IpeeF, etc, to choose from. Your reaction shows that you are taken by surprise; weak; and do know how to handle a crisis, professionally. What to do, that's all the 47 percent is all about.
Masu Otaku: BN should field Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali as its candidate. He can go to Kajang and distribute ' white pows ', a sure-win strategy!
1Citizen: BN is so desperate they will field anybody or anything; ability to govern or being alive is no criterion. Winning is more important.
