It appears that not all in Pakatan Rakyat are on the same page with regard to Anwar Ibrahim ( right ) taking over the leadership of the Selangor government.

PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat said support for the PKR supremo to contest in the Kajang by-election does mean endorsing him as the next menteri besar.

"The polemic over Kajang should not drag Pakatan to discuss the menteri besar issue.

"PAS Youth urges that discussion over this issue be stopped as Malaysians are fed up with the never-ending political polemics," Suhaizan said.

He said that he regretted the act of PKR to vacate the state seat “in a hurry, wasting the time and money of the rakyat”.

“It also exposes Pakatan Rakyat to the risk of eroding public support,” he said.

“However, we respect the consensus in Pakatan Rakyat to give the right of managing a state assembly seat to the party that won it in the last general election,” he said.

He said that PAS Youth does not want any other Pakatan component parties to repeat the same “mistake” in the future.

Suhaizan also urged both the federal and state governments to refrain from implementing “instant” projects in Kajang which will cause a wastage of public funds.

In the same press conference, Suhaizan announced that Selangor PAS Youth election director Hairul Nizam Tohar would be the chief coordinator from the party for the by-election.

However, he said that Selangor PAS’ threat to boycott the by-election was a “personal opinion” and not the final decision.

“The official decision is made by PAS and PAS Youth,” he said.

“We don't agree with wastage but we also don’t agree in giving a free win for BN,” he said.
